The way back
Getting back: plan the last bus before you go
Most of the lines a visitor uses run from early morning into the evening, and a few run only once or twice a day. This guide prints no departure times: it says where each operator publishes them, which lines end early or run on some days only, and what the official sources say about taxis and shuttles if the bus has gone.

Where the times are Each operator publishes its own last departures
Intercity Buses prints a Monday–Friday list and a Saturday, Sunday and holidays list on each line page. Cyprus Public Transport’s route 425 page has Monday–Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday tabs. OSYPA prints one Monday-to-Sunday list for routes 612 and 613 and separate weekend and holiday lists for routes 615 and 645; EMEL and OSEA publish each route on its own page. The connection guides above show first and last departures in dated line cards, each with the date after which its times are withdrawn.
- Open the operator’s page for the line you are on, in the direction you are returning, for the day type you are travelling.
- Read the return direction separately: the stop and the last trip can differ from the way out.
- A connection between two operators is not protected: allow margin at the change.

Lines that end early Rural and mountain lines: one or a few trips a day
EMEL route 64 between Limassol and Troodos is one trip up in the morning and one down in the afternoon: no later EMEL bus leaves Troodos Square. Route 40 is the only line on this site that reaches Omodos, with fewer trips at weekends. EMEL route 16 from Kourion Beach has no evening service in the Ministry data this site uses. OSYPA route 623 to Latchi runs twice a day, and route 630 past Petra tou Romiou runs from Monday to Saturday.
- Check the return first and the outing second: if the last bus back is too early for the plan, change the plan.
- Kourion: route 16 ends at the beach below the site; allow for the walk back down before the last bus.
- Troodos from Nicosia: route 408 runs from the Makario Stadium bus station at weekends, not from Solomou Square; on weekdays it is route 405 to Kakopetria and route 87 from there up to Troodos Square.

Late flights A late landing ends in Larnaca or Paphos by bus
Route 425 is the last daily bus out of Larnaca Airport, and the Intercity lines to Nicosia, Limassol and Ayia Napa leave Larnaca hours before its last trip, so after a late-evening landing the bus takes you into Larnaca but not on to the next town. On Friday and Saturday nights only, night line 446 calls at the airport later. At Paphos Airport, route 613 still runs into town after Intercity line 56 to Limassol has finished.
- Each arrival page says in words what happens on a late landing and names the shuttle the sources list: Kapnos Airport Shuttle to Ayia Napa, Limassol Airport Express to Limassol.
- Hermes Airports says taxis wait on the right as you leave the Arrivals Hall, on a 24-hour basis.
- Each arrival page also carries a pre-booked private transfer option, after the bus answer.

If you miss it Taxis: metered in towns, by the kilometre in villages
Visit Cyprus says urban taxis are a 24-hour service in all towns, can be booked by phone or hired directly from the street, and are equipped with taximeters whose use is obligatory. Rural taxis operate in village areas, have no taximeter, charge by a kilometre rate and can only be hired from and to their base station, except at the airport or seaport. The tariffs are on the Visit Cyprus transportation page; this site does not copy them.
- At the last stop of a village line, ask where the local rural taxi is based before the last bus leaves, not after.
- Complaints about a taxi go to the Road Traffic Department, as Visit Cyprus names it, or to the police.
- In an emergency, call 112.
